11/20/12 - Rupa Patel

26 players to start the final game of the season. By the break we were down to 18. The final table consisted of Michael Lam, Jeanine Anderson, Ariel Levy, Michael Gifford, Joesph Deveraux, Kirk Charles, Claw Kelsay and Rupa Patel. Claw Kelsay flopped a straight and Kirk Charles went all in with an open ended straight draw that stayed an open ended straight draw. This put Claw heads up against Rupa, who had taken second in the first game. They played back forth until the blinds were 5000/10,000. Finally, Claw goes all in with fours and is called by Rupa with ace five suited. She gets the flush and wins the tournament. Since Rupa had already qualifed and so had the top five, Ariel Levy qualifies for the championship.

11/20/12 - Kevin West

29 players for the first game including Jeanna Chapman, a player we have not seen since Halloween of 2011. By the break we were down to 17. Just as the final table was forming, we lost two players giving us six to start the table. The final table included Joesph Deveraux, Jeanna Chapman, Michael Anderson, Dave Lee, Ariel Levy, Ben Heimerman, Rupa Patel and Kevin West. Early on Kevin West went all in with ace king suited in clubs and won with a flush. Later, Rupa Patel goes all in with king six suited in diamonds and gets a flush which takes out Dave Lee who had a straight. West, who has ten eight calls Ben Heimerman and Kevin gets two pair and takes out Ben, leaving Kevin heads up with Rupa. West all in with jack queen, Rupa calls with ace king and Kevin gets the straight and the win. Kevin will get a second stack at the championship, and Rupa qualified for the event. Game two began with 22 players and by the break we still had 18. The final table consisted of Ian Ouimet, Claw Kelsay, Michael Lam, Glenn Pruiksma, Kirk Charles, Dennis Mitchell, Annie Campos and Andrew Muffley. Annie, Andrew and Kirk went all in, but the board won and everyone got back their chips. Muffley all in in the dark gets a pair of queens against Dennis Mitchell and wins. Another three way all in with Muffley, Mitchell and Campos, with Annie winning the main pot with trip eights, Muffley getting the side with a pair of queens, and Mitchell was eliminated. Andrew wins the tourney when another pair of queens beats Annie's jack three. This gives Andrew his third win, giving me another additional stack at the championship. With Andrew, Annie, Dennis, Kirk, Glenn, Michael all qualifying earlier, Claw Kelsay now qualifies for the championship finals.

11/13/12 - Dennis Mitchell

We started with 14 but ended up with 18 players and by the break we were down to 10. The final table consisted of Jeanine Anderson, Ben Kerns, Kirk Charles, Annie Campos, Michael Lam, Kevin West, Dave Lee and Dennis Mitchell. Heads up was between Mitchell and Lee, Mitchell's ace king against Lee's king ten, gave Dennis Mitchell the win when his ace high was enough to take the hand. This gives Dennis an additional stack at the championship.

Game two began with 17 players and by the break we were down to 10. The final table consisted of Dave Lee, Michael Abadir, Kirk Charles, Dave Brummett, Anton Cwik, Glenn Pruiksma, Ben Kerns, and Michael Lam. Charles goes all in with king jack and is called by Ben Kerns with king queen. Ben wins and Charles is left with 200 in chips, forcing him to be all in in the next hand. Michael Lam's flush removed Charles from the table. Anton Cwik goes all in with a pair of jacks against Michael Lam, Anton gets a third jack giving him a set and the win of that hand. Dave Brummett's queen eight is called by Kerns with ace queen. The ace queen wins and Brummett is taken out. Anton Cwik goes all in with jack seven, but Ben Kerns calls with ace seven and wins with a pair of sevens, leaving only three players. Heads up Lam against Kern and Lam wins the tourney with king queen. Lam will get a second stack in the finals, Glenn Pruiksma won a set in the finals, because both Lam and Kerns had qualified earlier.

11/6/12 - Ben Kerns

Game one began with 19 players. By the break we were down to 13. The final table consisted of Dave Lee, Glenn Pruiksma, Dennis Mitchell, Michael Gifford, Claw Kelsay, Eric Noble, William Yeung, and Ben Kerns. This is the first time this season, that Ben had played on Tuesday night. Michael Gifford went all in with king jack and is called by Dennis Mitchell with a pair of fives. Gifford got the necessary jack on the river and took a bite out of Mitchell's chip stack. Dave Lee went out when Claw Kelsay's ace queen bested Lee's ace seven. Dennis Mitchell goes all in in the dark and is called by Glenn Pruiksma. Dennis's king three holds up against Glenn's queen seven. Both Dennis and Glenn go all in and were called by William Yeung. Yeung had queen six and a gets two sixes on the board to give him trip sixes. Gifford goes all in with three five and is called by Kerns with ace king. Ben won and took out Gifford. Claw Kelsay all in with ace jack against Ben Kerns' ace eight. Ben gets a straight and takes out Claw. William Yeung goes all in with fours and is called by Eric Noble with king jack. The fours hold up and William wins that hand. Eric Noble goes all in with ten king and is called by Yeung with a pair of fives. William's pocket pair wins and takes out Noble. The final play saw Ben Kerns win with a full house and secure a seat in the championship finals.

10/30/12 - Kirk Charles

Game two began with 18 players and by the break we were down to 9. Just as the final table was forming, Dave Lee went out and so the final table began with seven players. The final eight were Dave Lee, Heather Rein, Mike Breem, Claw Kelsay, Jacob Sawyer, William Darkow, Michael Lam, and Kirk Charles. Kirk Charles goes all in with King seven and is called by two players. He wins with king high and triples up. A few hands later Kirk goes all in with queens and is called by new player Mike Breem. Kirk wins the hand with a full house and takes out Breem. Claw Kelsay goes all in with king two against William Darkow with ace ten, the board gets two aces and William wins with trip aces. In a show down with Darkow who has queen ten of diamonds, Michael Lam had ace king of diamonds and wins the hand with ace high. Michael Lam took out Jacob Sawyer when Lam had ace jack and Sawyer had ace king, but Lam's jacks paired. Kirk goes all in with a pair of aces and is called by Lam with eight jack. The flop comes ten, jack, nine, and the turn is a queen giving Lam the queen high straight, but the river card was a king and gave Charles the higher straight and the win. Because both Charles and Lam have already qualified for the championship, William Darkow wins a seat, but Kirk wins an additional chip stack.

10/30/12 - Michael Gifford

Game one began with 19 players and by the break we were down to 9. A player from the early days of SPO, Richard Ermish showed up for the first game. Final table consisted of new player, Jared Hazen, William Yeung, Dave Lee, Claw Kelsay, Michael Lam, Dennis Mitchell, Bobby Videna and Michael Gifford. Bobby Videna all in with ace ten called by Dave Lee with ten King, but the ace held. Michael Lam went all in the dark and won with a pair of aces against Michael Gifford's pair of nines. Dave Lee went all in with Jack four and lost to Michael Lam with ace jack. Claw Kelsay went all in and was called by Michael Gifford who wins the hand with a pair of deuces. Bobby Videna, Dennis Mitchell and Michael Lam go all in at the same time, Bobby's ace two turns into two pairs and takes out Lam and reduces Mitchell's stack. Dennis goes all in with seven three against Bobby's eight nine. Bobby gets a pair of eights and takes out Dennis Mitchell. Heads up Gifford's four nine pairs up the four and takes out Bobby Videna, but because Gifford has already qualified, Bobby gets a set in the championship finals and Gifford gets an additional stack.

10/23/12 - Kate Kelsay

The second game of the evening began with 18 players and by the break we were down to 10. As in the earlier game there was a lot of action right before the final table formed, only 6 drew seating cards. The final eight were Linda Sauter, Kevin West, Sean Robinson, Jacob Sawyer, William Darkow, Joesph Deveraux, Kirk Charles and Kate Kelsay. Jacob was taken out with King nine, Kate had King Queen and another player had King ten, but it was the King Queen which one that hand. William Darkow lost to Kate with trip sevens to her flush. Kate's trip fives took out Joesph Deveraux. Against Kirk Charles, and with a impressive stack of chips in front of her, her pair of jacks eliminated him from the game. This was Kate Kelsay's first time playing with Seattle Poker Open.

10/23/12 - Annie Campos

We began with 23 players, a few new faces and one we hadn't seen for a while, Kurt Schendel, a regular from the Bridge days. By the break we were down to 16. William Yeung was the bubble for the final table and was taken out by trip eights. Before cards could be drawn for the final table, two more players were out and we had six players draw for seats. The final eight consisted of Dave Lee, Mary Dee, Sean Robinson, Michael Anderson, Michael Zhang, Kevin West, Kurt Schendel and Annie Campos. Early on at the final table, Michael Anderson went all in against Michael Zhang, and won the hand with queen high. Against Zhang again, Anderson's King Queen versus Zhang pair of deuces, and the deuces held, with Anderson going out. Zhang then goes all in with queen four against Kurt Schendel, who had jacks and the jacks held removing Zhang from the game. Kevin West with seven six took out Zhang who had a pair of sevens which turned into a set, but Kevin got a straight with his connected cards. With a ace four that turned into a pair of aces, Annie took out Kevin. And with only a king high she beat Kurt Schendel and won the first game.

10/16/12 - Andrew Muffley

Game two began with 27 players. Kirk Charles had queens work well for him in the early part of the game, seeing quad queens and not long after a set of queens both of which won the respective hands. By the break we were down to 16 players. The final table consisted of Dennis Mitchell, Dave Lee, Michael Lam, Tessa Jorgensen, William Yeung, Kirk Charles, Michael Gifford, and Andrew Muffley. With the blinds at 3000/6000 Michael Gifford goes all in with ace three and is called by Kirk Charles with two three. Charles wins the hand with a pair of twos. Both Andrew Muffley and Michael Gifford go all in with jack eight and end up chopping the pot. Blinds reached 7500/15,000. Andrew goes all in with a pair of sevens and is called by Michael Gifford with Queen six. A third seven appears in the flop giving the win to Andrew with a set of sevens. Because, Andrew, Michael, Kirk and William had all previously qualified for the championship finals, Tessa Jorgensen who finished fifth will given a seat in the championship finals.

10/16/12 - Phil Cordier

Game one began with 22 players. Early in the game Rick Gleason and Scott Carpenter both had pocket aces and had to chop the pot. By the break there were 15 players remaining. Dennis Mitchell went all in with King Queen and was called by Alexa with King Jack. Both of her cards paired and she took out Dennis. Soon after Joesph goes all in with Jack seven and Alexa calls with ten eight. Joes wins the hand with Jack high. Final hand between Phil Cordier and Joseph Deveraux, sees Joseph going all in with two three and called by Phil with King ten. Phil wins with 2 pair, Kings and tens.

9/18/12 - Michael Lam

We lost a few players who had to make it an early night, and gained three new players, making game two begin with 23 players, too. It was nice to see a face from the past, Scott Hennes, who joined us for the late game. By the break we were down to 16 players. After the break Kirk Charles went all in with pocket tens who was called by new player, Ed Yue with ace king, who was called by Maria M with pocket nines, who was called by Bobby Videna with pocket queens. Four all-ins and the flop with king ace king, gave Ed Yue a full house. The turn card was a 9 and the river brought another ace, taking out both Charles and Videna and wounding Maria M. Final table consisted of Dave Chaung, Steve Ewing, Dan Lux, Linda Sauter, Sean Robinson, Ed Yue, William Darkow and Michael Lam. Darkow took out Sauter with pocket 5's, leaving four players. Lam's 8's full of queens took out Ed Yue's 8's full of jacks leaving Michael Lam and William Darkow heads up. Darkow's all in with king queen lost to Lam's ace six, giving Lam 2 pair and the win for game two.

9/18/12 - Sean Robinson

23 players started the first game of the night. Before the break, one of the more exciting hands saw Bryce Withrow's trip queens lose to Michael Lam's trip kings. By break there were 15 players remaining. Final table included Linda Sauter, Ian Ouimet, Dave Brummett, Glenn Pruiksma, Steve Ewing, Dave Lee, Michael Lam, and Sean Robinson. Ian Ouimet tried to prove the old adage of a "chip and a chair" by doubling up his single 100 chip to 200, then with pocket 7's winning 900, and finally up to 2400, but it wasn't enough ultimately. With only three players left, Michael Lam took out Dave Lee. Sean Robinson and Michael Lam were then heads up. Lam's King 8 won against Robinson's King 6, lessening Sean's chip stack, but Sean came back to win the first game.
